Do you love testing new AI models?
Good. We built one you can break on your own laptop. Nado runs entirely on your computer, cites its sources or says it doesn't know, and turns your folders into knowledge cartridges you can swap in and out without retraining anything. We want people who will use it on real work and tell us, bluntly, what breaks.
Your files never leave your machine. It listens on 127.0.0.1 only. An offline mode cuts it down to a licence check.
One command turns a folder into a cited cartridge. Add or remove it, and Nado uses the change from the next question.
A local OpenAI-compatible API, a terminal client, PDF / Word / Excel / PowerPoint in and out, and your Claude MCP servers and skills.
On GEN14, a sealed, pre-registered test of 1,240 unseen tasks, Nado came within 10 points of Claude Opus 5.5 and Gemini 3.1 Pro in all 12 areas. Not equal: it trails in 7, ties in 3 and leads in reading and writing. The full table.
What a pilot place means
- A private download for your Mac or Windows PC, plus full documentation.
- A direct line to the people who built it.
- No cost during the pilot, and no card.
- We ask you to use it on real work, report what breaks, and join an occasional 30-minute call. That is a request, not a contract.
What you need
- Mac: Apple silicon, 24 GB memory or more, 25 GB free disk.
- Windows 10/11 (x64): 16 GB memory or more, 25 GB free disk. An NVIDIA GPU helps. Windows is new in this pilot.
We read every request and reply to each one. Places are limited, so we may waitlist you for a later wave.
